During a recent visit to Monolithic Domes in Italy, Texas I accompanied Diego and Mattias from the Diasen company, Italy when they presented their Diathonite Cork Render and Stucco.
Diasen makes stuccos, plasters, water proof coatings and other materials for flooring, concrete surfacing, pool decks and more. Absolutely the very best products for these applications I have ever seen!
Taking a piece of the cork render (a flexible like paint with cork in it) on a piece of EPS foam I broke it in half. The cork render did not break, it allowed me to bend it back and forth and twist it with no cracks at all. It is very elastic, made to take temperature extremes, and be insulating, breathable and yet water repellent. As I said, fantastic stuff.
David and Mike South of Monolithic Domes were suitably impressed with the materials.
We also brought samples of Diasen’s cork infused stucco that is insulating and will help prevent the humidity and moisture problems so common with concrete. Breathable, “green” LEEDS certified, and sound attenuating.
We all know cork – it does not absorb water that’s why it’s used. Also, soft to walk on, very fire retardant – just blackens, and is a renewable resource.
So folks, here is another tremendous group of products I am proud to be associated with. Diego Mingarelli, son of the founder and creator of Diasen, now runs the family business. Diasen has been around a long time and they know their products very well. Their teams of chemists verify and certify the testing of these solutions and can develop a solution for your needs.
If interested please contact me and I will get you started with them.
