We feel as does David South of Monolithic Domes, deep condolences for the disaster in Oklahoma and are in awe of the kindness and generosity and persistence of the people who live there.
We hope in the future, people will consider building a dome – even if internal with porches and dormers and patios etc. on the exterior to make it seem outwardly more conventional – but the main building can be a safe dome that is way more likely to withstand these horrific tornados.
Personally I believe that basements are now an option, as waterproofing of them has reached the point where the cost is no longer prohibitive. Even if just one building per block is made with a large basement safe room. Parking garages can be made dome shaped and help protect all those vehicles from piling up as well.
Best for the future to all.
